A grand Cooperative Conference was held in Tehri to mark the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, with State Cooperatives Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat as chief guest, media outlets report.
He highlighted Uttarakhand’s achievements, including 30% reservation for women in cooperative elections and a goal to create 25,000 ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in Tehri.
The Minister lauded cooperative banks and societies and honoured three top performers in millet procurement.
Tehri ranked second in the state under the Millets Mission. Additionally, Rs 69.5 lakh in interest-free loans was distributed to women-led SHGs to boost self-employment.
