Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has called for strengthening the Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC Bank) and transforming it into one of the leading district cooperative banks in the country, while urging greater financial support for farmers and rural economic activities.
Speaking at the bank’s 109th Annual General Meeting, Pawar highlighted its financial performance, noting that the bank’s business had reached Rs 30,768 crore as of March 2026, with a net profit of Rs 79 crore.
Recalling her late husband Ajit Pawar’s 32-year-and-five-month association with PDCC Bank, she said his emphasis on financial discipline, lending, recovery and farmers’ issues should continue to guide the institution.
Pawar urged the bank to expand finance for allied agricultural activities and effectively implement the Ajitdada Pawar Agricultural Prosperity Loan Scheme and Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Debt Relief Scheme 2026.
She also urged the bank to increase the interest concession on education loans for farmers’ children from the existing 4% to 5%, including students pursuing education in India and abroad.
Senior leader Dilip Walse Patil, Agriculture Minister Dattatraya Bharane, and the bank’s board members, officials, employees and members attended the AGM.
