Sumul Dairy reduces staff; supply remains uninterrupted

Responding to the corona virus scare, Sumul Dairy MD S V Chaudhari said, “The work from procurement of milk to packaging to marketing is going on smoothly but we have taken several precautions to keep everyone safe.

We have reduced the staff up to 30 percent and are providing the pick and drop service to the employees who are coming to the office, he added.

Chaudhari added that, employees wear their own masks while working and the guard who is standing on the main gate asks every visitor to wash their hands with sanitizers while entering the dairy.

We are using the right thermal body scanners for screening temperature as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19″, he underlined.

Since the borders with other states have been sealed, it has become a challenge to meet the crisis of cattle feed for dairy farmers.

Sumul Dairy is procuring milk from Surat and Tapi to the tune of more than 16 lakh liter every day.

Sumul is one among the 17 district unions which acts as a manufacturing unit of dairy products for Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the marketer of Amul brand of products.
