Sule aide Nagwade under lens in Maharashtra

Vashali Nagwade , chairperson of Maharashtra state cooperative milk producers’ federation may face difficulties in the next days as the dept of cooperation has decided to get the alleged misuse of the federation’s funds inquired into by a special officer published in a report in Asian Age.

The federation’s chairperson is supposed to be close to Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule. The latter is a member of parliament.

One of the allegations is she allowed about Rs. 20 lakh to be spent on foreign tours undertaken by her and other directors without prior permission. Not only that, she gave Rs. 1 crore in advance to two dairy societies that are yet to be recovered, says the report.

The special auditor of cooperative (milk) in its audit report for the year 2009-10 and 2010-11 passed a stricture over misuse of the federation’s fund.

The report also stated that the chairperson and the board of directors have used huge amounts without calling tenders or used it unnecessarily. Ms Nagawade has been the chairperson of the federation since 2012.
