According to a Hindu report, the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha has called upon cooperative banks to cancel the proposed auction of gold ornaments pledged with them against loans.
As the farmers had suffered losses due to drought over the last years , they could not repay the loans , the KRSS asserted. The BJP has come out in support of their demand.
The KRSS leader Sambhunahalli Suresh has called for immediate cancellation by all banks including cooperative banks of the proposed auction of gold ornaments belonging to the farmers.
