Solapur DCCB eyes recruitment under 70% Local Quota

Maharashtra-based Solapur District Central Cooperative Bank (SDCC Bank) is likely to begin a major recruitment process following the Maharashtra government’s decision to reserve 70% of jobs in District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) for local candidates from the respective district.

The move is expected to benefit thousands of job aspirants in Solapur, particularly because the bank has not carried out recruitment since 1997. According to bank information, SDCC Bank has 1,207 branches, including its headquarters, with 1,693 sanctioned employee posts. Nearly 920 of these posts are currently vacant.

The state government introduced the new policy to curb alleged irregularities and outside influence in cooperative bank recruitments. If suitable candidates from other districts are not available for the remaining 30% quota, preference will again be given to local applicants.

SDCC Bank had suffered losses for several years, which delayed recruitment. However, with the bank returning to profitability, there is now scope for fresh hiring. The bank’s financial position is now considered satisfactory, with total business crossing Rs 10,000 crore as of March 31, 2026, and an estimated profit of around Rs 250 crore.
