Slum dweller co-op invites Rajnath for annual function

Nafed nominee Ashok Thakur who is also the Chairman of North Ex Cooperative Society located in Rohini in West Delhi recently met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and invited him for the society’s Annual Function which is scheduled for 22nd October in Rohini, Delhi.

Established in 2012 the North Ex cooperative society has been working in slum areas playing a major role in changing the life of poor people living in these places. The society is doing business worth Rs 2 crore with about 1200 slum dwellers as its members.

”I and office bearers of the society met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence for inviting him for the Annual Function. Governor of Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki, BJP National Vice President Shyam Jaju have confirmed their participation to grace the occasion,” Thakur told Indian Cooperative on phone.

”We will also approach Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and Haryana Coop Minister to be part of this function,” he added.

Explaining details of the upcoming event, he said ”we are also organizing an appreciation award ceremony for the workers and about 5,000 people are likely to be present on this occasion. The whole function is dedicated to Maharishi Valmiki”.
