Singh visits Nanocellulose Pilot Plant

Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visited the ICAR-CIRCOT in Matunga, Mumbai. He saw the research facilities, Nanocellulose Pilot Plant and the exhibition hall of the Institute in his visit.

Dr. P.G. Patil, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT briefed him about the achievements of the Institute. Documentaries about the Institute activities and Nanocellulose Pilot Plant were screened during the occasion.

Minister in his address appreciated the activities of the Institute. The institute has organized 41 skill development programmes and undertaken 22 consultancies and signed 19 MoUs with the stakeholders during the last two years.

In the last two years ICAR-CIRCOT has established first ever Nanocellulose Pilot Plant, first in India and fifth in the World, which is the focus of the PM’s Make in India Initiative. The institute also established Agri-Business Incubation Centre to promote entrepreneurship development in Agriculture, read a PIB release.

Chhabilendra Roul, Additional Secretary DARE and Secretary, ICAR, Dr. S.N. Jha, ADG (PE), ICAR and Directors of ICAR-CIFE, NRC Grapes and Directorate of Onion and Garlic were present on the occasion.
