Singh at Vamnicom in Co-op Week; exhorts co-ops to export

Addressing an event organized by Pune-based Vamnicom on the occasion of the 68th All India Cooperative Week, Union Cooperative Secretary DK Singh, IAS stressed the need for making cooperatives export-oriented units.

“This would be in line with the Government of India’s policy to link PACS which are the smallest units in the cooperatives structure, to the 5 Trillion Dollar economy. He further emphasized the need to work on cooperative principles in order to provide important solutions to problems faced by cooperatives”, he added.

Vamnicom Director Dr. Hema Yadav informed that VAMNICOM has initiated many collaborations and partnerships with knowledge and technology Institutions. One of the Partner Institutes is the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) with which VAMNICOM will be launching training modules on export marketing.

Vidyadhar Anaskar, President, Maharashtra Council, Vice President, NAFCUB, New Delhi, and Chairman, Maharashtra Urban Cooperative Federation, Mumbai was also present on the occasion.

This function was started by garlanding the bust of Vaikunthbhai Mehta and remembering his immense contributions to the cooperative sector. The vote of thanks was moved by V.Sudhir. Registrar VAMNICOM.
