Marking five years of the Ministry of Cooperation, the Sindhudurg (Maharashtra) District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) inaugurated Cooperative Week 2026 at its headquarters in Oros, Maharashtra, while also announcing the formation of the Sindhudurg District Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd.
Inaugurating the celebrations by hoisting the Cooperative Flag, DCCB Chairman Manish Dalvi stressed the need to leverage the experience of cooperative leaders to strengthen the district’s cooperative ecosystem.
He said the newly formed multi-purpose cooperative society would provide affordable training to cooperative institutions, helping create a skilled workforce and improve institutional efficiency. The district bank, he added, would extend infrastructure and training support to ensure the initiative’s success.
Dalvi emphasized that greater collaboration among cooperative activists, institutions, and the Cooperative Board would accelerate the growth of the sector and contribute to a more vibrant cooperative movement in Sindhudurg.
The event also featured the inaugural meeting of the new society, where Manish Dalvi was elected Chairman and Sandesh Hadkar was chosen as Chairman of the multi-purpose cooperative society.
The programme was attended by former MLA Ajit Gogate, cooperative department officials, bank directors, senior executives, and representatives from cooperative institutions across the district.
