In a significant step towards strengthening the cooperative sector, the Sikkim State Cooperative Union successfully organized a comprehensive training programme for Managers and Secretaries of PACS, Milk Producers’ Cooperative Societies (PCS), ACIs, and Cooperative Inspectors of Gangtok district.

The programme focused on key operational and compliance areas, including IT and GST compliance, stock taking procedures, and preparation of Cash and Recurring Deposit (R.D.) statements. Designed to enhance professional efficiency and transparency, the training aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge to streamline cooperative operations.

Officials highlighted the importance of digital adoption and regulatory compliance in improving the performance and accountability of grassroots cooperatives.

Participants actively engaged in the sessions, gaining insights into best practices and updated guidelines. It bears recalling that NCUI’s former Governing Council Member Mangaljit Rai is the Chairman of Sikkim State Co-op Union.
