The Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (SCMPUL) participated in the grand closing ceremony of Cooperative Week in New Delhi, marking the fifth anniversary of the Ministry of Cooperation. The event brought together over 10,000 representatives from cooperative institutions, dairy unions and federations across the country.

Sikkim was represented by SCMPUL Managing Director Dr. T. B. Ghatani and Manager (Accounts & Administration) K. B. Gurung. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), senior government officials and cooperative leaders attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” and highlighted reforms in digital governance, cooperative education, storage infrastructure and dairy development. Lalan Singh outlined the achievements of White Revolution 2.0 and stressed expanding dairy cooperatives to improve milk quality and farmers’ incomes.

SCMPUL said participation in the national event provided valuable exposure to the Centre’s latest policy initiatives and technological interventions, which will help strengthen Sikkim’s cooperative dairy sector.
