A delegation of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN), led by Chairman Dr. Mangal Jit Rai, met Assam Governor Laxman Acharya at Lok Bhawan under the theme “Cooperative Samvad” to discuss the strengthening of the cooperative movement in the North East.

During the interaction, the Governor appreciated SICUN’s efforts in promoting cooperative activities and expanding the reach of the cooperative sector across the region.

He underlined the significant role cooperatives can play in accelerating socio-economic development, improving livelihoods, and generating employment opportunities in North Eastern states.

Laxman Acharya also stressed the need for a structured and state-wise priority framework for the North East to identify sector-specific opportunities and challenges.
