Shiv Nadar University hosted a day-long conference on Co-operatives, Development and Higher Education at the India Habitat Centre, bringing together policymakers, academics, practitioners and students to discuss collaborative pathways for socio-economic transformation.
Aligned with the United Nations’ International Year of Cooperatives, the event examined linkages between higher education institutions, co-operatives, NGOs and foundations.
Secretary, Ministry of Co-operatives Ashish Kumar Bhutani highlighted the need for stronger lab-to-field partnerships between universities and cooperatives to strengthen rural India.
The conference also saw participation from NCUI Chief Executive Sudhir Mahajan, NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah and NRLM’s Vivek Kunj. Speakers underlined women’s growing leadership in India’s vast cooperative sector and stressed integrated, inclusive development.
