Shah hails Amul as Global Co-op Success Story

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah hailed Amul as one of the world’s most trusted food brands, saying its success reflects the strength of India’s cooperative movement.

He noted that women livestock farmers are now directly linked to Amul’s annual business turnover of nearly Rs 1.25 lakh crore through the cooperative model. Shah said Amul has demonstrated that a cooperative institution can build a globally respected enterprise while operating transparently and without scandals or corruption.

He described the dairy giant as a shining example of “Prosperity through Cooperation,” highlighting its role in empowering rural producers and strengthening the cooperative economy.
