IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani highlighted the role of cooperatives in strengthening farmers’ incomes and creating better opportunities from production to markets and exports at a Sahakar Samvad and Kisan Sabha held at Chalala in Gujarat.
Sanghani said the Centre’s formation of three new national cooperative societies focusing on seeds, organic farming and exports would help farmers access improved opportunities through the cooperative model.
He also highlighted government support for farmers through subsidised fertiliser, noting that urea, whose actual cost exceeds Rs 4,000 per bag, is being made available to farmers at Rs 266.50.
The event was organised jointly by the Agriculture and Rural Development Council and Chalala Station Para Cooperative Purchase and Sale Service Society. Cooperative and dairy leaders, including IFFCO State Marketing Manager R.C. Damor and Amre Dairy Chairman Ashwinbhai Savaliya, attended the programme.
