The Sahakar Vikas Manch panel secured a major victory in the elections to the board of Goa State Cooperative Union, with eight of its candidates being elected as directors.
The elections were held for the 2026-27 to 2030-31 term, and the results were announced on Tuesday.
Following the victory, the newly elected directors met Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Cooperation Minister Subhash Shirodkar. The Chief Minister congratulated the directors and advised them to work towards the development of the cooperative sector in the state.
Among those elected from various categories were Deepak Gawas, Narayan Kamat, Francis Mascarenhas and Sanket Naik Mule from Agricultural Credit Societies; Vijaykant Gavkar and Govind Naik from Dairy Cooperative Societies; Sandesh Mandrekar from Consumer Cooperative Societies; and others.
Of these, eight directors belonged to the Sahakar Vikas Manch panel.
