Sachin Apte has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of Cosmos Cooperative Bank, one of India’s leading urban cooperative banks, following the resignation of Pralhad Kokare due to personal reasons.
The Cooperative Election Authority has formally approved Apte’s appointment.
Mr. Apte holds a graduate degree in Civil Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Structural Engineering from the Government College of Engineering Pune.
He is a practicing civil engineer with over 25 years of experience as a promoter and developer in India and abroad. In addition, he has worked as a management consultant for various firms, hospitals, and trusts, and has served as a facilitator and liaison consultant for reputed hospitals in Pune.
Apart from his engineering career, Apte is also an entrepreneur in the hospitality and restaurant sector and is actively associated with several educational institutions. He is well connected with multiple social welfare organizations and contributes towards community development initiatives.
It is noteworthy that Cosmos Cooperative Bank has crossed a business mix of over Rs 44,000 crore as of March 31, 2026.
