Rajasthan witnessed development works worth Rs 11,953 crore being initiated in a single day, with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurating and laying foundation stones for projects worth Rs 6,453 crore across 17 districts from Alwar.

Shah said foundation stones and Bhoomi Pujan were conducted for 954 works involving the Rs 6,453-crore investment. Earlier in the day, projects worth another Rs 5,500 crore had been launched in Chittorgarh, taking the day’s combined development push to Rs 11,953 crore.

The programme also brought direct financial support to farmers. Around Rs 152 crore under the Chief Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme was transferred through direct benefit transfer. More than Rs 667 crore was also disbursed to 67 lakh farmers under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi at Rs 1,000 per farmer.

Shah said the initiatives represented a broader effort to strengthen farmers, livestock rearers, women and youth. He described their empowerment as essential to India’s ambition of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The projects span agriculture, dairy, cooperation and rural infrastructure.
