The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended the period of its Directions imposed on Kanaka Pattana Sahakara Bank Niyamita, Davangere, for another three months, up to the close of business on December 12, 2026.
The RBI had issued the Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, on March 11, 2026, initially for six months up to September 12, 2026.
The central bank said it was satisfied that, in the public interest, it was necessary to further extend the period of operation of the Directions. Accordingly, the existing Directions will remain in force from September 12 to December 12, 2026, subject to review.
The RBI clarified that the extension or modification of the Directions should not, by itself, be construed as an indication that it is satisfied with the financial position of the bank.
All other terms and conditions of the earlier Directions will remain unchanged.
