The Rajkot District Cooperative Bank has emerged as a shining example in India’s cooperative sector, maintaining a remarkable track record that has earned it repeated national recognition.
The bank has bagged NABARD’s Best Performance Award five times and the Overall Best Performance Award four times, underscoring its consistent financial discipline, farmer-centric approach, and sustainable growth model.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah lauded the institution’s success, noting how it has upheld the true spirit of cooperatives by ensuring that profits flow back to farmers rather than capitalists. He pointed out that for over five decades, the bank has kept net NPAs below one percent while offering loans at exceptionally low interest rates.
On the same occasion, statues of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Vitthalbhai Radadiya were unveiled. Shah said Patel laid the foundation for farmer-centric institutions like Rajkot District Cooperative Bank, while Radadiya’s leadership transformed it into an award-winning model for the nation.
