Rajasthan UCBs: RBI organizes ‘Mission Saksham’

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has begun implementing its capacity-building initiative, Mission Saksham, for the urban cooperative banking sector. As part of the initiative, RBI’s Department of Supervision, Jaipur, organized a capacity-building workshop at Hotel Wyndham Grand, Udaipur, on Wednesday to strengthen the functioning of Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs).

The programme brought together chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and directors of UCBs from across Rajasthan. Discussions focused on key aspects of banking operations, including corporate governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and customer service.

The initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of bank directors and promote best practices in the cooperative banking sector. RBI officials emphasized the importance of strong governance frameworks, prudent risk management, and strict adherence to regulatory norms to ensure the long-term sustainability and resilience of cooperative banks.

The event also provided a platform for knowledge sharing and interaction among banking leaders, enabling participants to exchange experiences and discuss emerging trends and challenges in the sector.

The event forms part of RBI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the cooperative banking ecosystem through continuous training and capacity-building initiatives.
