Rajasthan has intensified its push to strengthen the cooperative sector with Chief Secretary V. Srinivas directing departments to fast-track key initiatives under the “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” campaign during the 9th meeting of the State Cooperative Development Committee (SCDC) held in Jaipur on Thursday.
The Chief Secretary stressed stronger coordination between agriculture, dairy and cooperation departments, speedy expansion of dairy cooperative societies, and wider use of cooperative banks for transactions and subsidy transfers.
He also emphasized improving cooperative banking services through financial technology and ensuring effective utilisation of warehouses being built under the world’s largest grain storage scheme.
Cooperation Department Secretary and Registrar Cooperative Societies Samit Sharma informed the meeting that Rajasthan has formed 1,811 new M-PACS, 3,434 dairy cooperative societies and 31 fisheries cooperatives.
He said 6,526 PACS have already gone live under the computerisation project, while thousands of societies have been linked with CSC and e-Mitra services. Sharma added that Rajasthan ranks first in the country in BBSSL membership and digital cooperative transactions, recording 9.60 crore e-transactions.
The meeting also reviewed FPO expansion, cooperative banking outreach and the proposed “Sahkar Van” project in Jaipur.
