According to R.S.Sodhi MD GCMMF, Amul has plans to invest Rs. 150 crore to establish a network of milk collection centers in Punjab, reports Business Standard.
Sources say the dairy major will boost milk processing sector and offer the dairy farmers a better procurement price in Punjab.
The Gujarat cooperative has rolled out its branches in many states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Haryana but Punjab is going to be crucial due to scale of commercial dairy farming in the state, said R S Sodhi.
