Punjab Guv backs Co-op Movement at Sah Bharati Event

Sahakar Bharati organised a cooperative awareness programme in Patiala, where Gulab Chand Kataria attended as the chief guest and highlighted the vital role of the cooperative movement in rural development and farmers’ empowerment.

Addressing the gathering, Kataria said cooperatives have significantly contributed towards making villages economically strong and self-reliant, especially in the agriculture and dairy sectors. He described cooperation as not just a system but a social philosophy based on the spirit of “Sanskar Se Sahakar”, promoting trust, collective participation, and self-reliance.

The Punjab Governor said the government is fully supporting cooperative organisations working for grassroots development and stressed the need for honest and capable leadership in the sector to ensure benefits continue reaching people effectively.

Praising Punjab’s hardworking farmers and youth, he said strong cooperatives and public participation can help bring prosperity and a new direction to rural India.

The programme was attended by Uday Joshi, Sanjay Pachpor, representatives of the Punjab unit of Sahakar Bharati, and several others associated with the cooperative sector.
