Amul’s Value-Added Products boost Dairy Growth: Shah
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said cooperative dairies are rapidly expanding into value-added nutritional products, with brands like Amul witnessing strong consumer response for products such as dark chocolate, protein shakes, probiotic curd and high-protein beverages.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating Madhur Dairy’s modern processing plant in Gandhinagar, Shah said India’s dairy cooperatives are no longer confined to traditional milk products but are increasingly adopting innovation and global food trends to enhance farmers’ incomes.

He noted that the biggest strength of the cooperative model lies in ensuring that profits from successful products ultimately benefit livestock rearers and milk producers.

Shah said Gujarat’s leading cooperative dairies, including Amul, Banas Dairy and Mehsana Dairy, are using advanced technologies and product diversification to strengthen India’s “White Revolution 2.0.” He added that the government is committed to modernising the dairy sector through technology, value addition and sustainable growth models.
