Leaders of the Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives Inc. (Coop Chamber) have held talks with the International Labor Organization (ILO) Philippine Country Office on strengthening cooperatives’ role in national development, decent work and the social solidarity economy (SSE), media reports suggest.
During a January 22 courtesy meeting, Coop Chamber chairman Noel D. Raboy and secretary-general Edwin A. Bustillos discussed aligning the cooperative movement with ILO Recommendation 193.
The dialogue highlighted cooperatives as people-driven enterprises and key SSE pillars. Discussions also covered public transport modernization, with the ILO expressing interest in collaboration under its Global Accelerator programme and exploring future partnerships.
