Pendse becomes Chairman of Solapur Janata Sahakari Bank

Sunil Pendse has been re-elected unopposed as Chairman of Maharashtra’s prominent urban cooperative lender, Solapur Janata Sahakari Bank, with Milind Kulkarni as Vice-Chairman.

The appointments have received formal approval from the Cooperative Election Authority under the Union Ministry of Cooperation.

Talking to Indian Cooperation correspondent, Chairman Pendse said, “Our business mix stands at around Rs 3,000 crore, and we posted a net profit of Rs 24 crore in FY 2025–26. The profit could have been higher if not for a Rs 20 crore provision towards IDR.”

Marking a historic milestone, the bank has achieved zero Net NPA for the first time, highlighting robust asset quality and disciplined financial management.

Outlining an ambitious roadmap, Pendse added, “We aim to scale our business mix beyond Rs 5,000 crore in the next few years and plan to open four new branches in the current financial year.”

Founded on April 23, 1966, the bank has grown into a trusted financial institution across western Maharashtra and Marathwada, known for steady growth and strong depositor confidence.

With a clean balance sheet, expansion plans, and focused leadership, Solapur Janata Sahakari Bank is well-positioned to accelerate growth and strengthen its regional footprint.
