Cooperation is emerging as a key driver of development in Himachal Pradesh, with new initiatives aimed at strengthening grassroots institutions and improving opportunities for cooperative members.

The Ministry of Cooperation said the State is witnessing progress through the formation of new cooperative committees, computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), easier access to credit and expansion of dairy cooperatives.

These measures are aimed at making cooperatives more efficient, transparent and economically vibrant while extending their benefits to rural communities.

The Ministry noted that the transformation is being reflected not merely in numbers but also in the lives and livelihoods of millions of cooperative members. The initiatives are part of the broader ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ vision, under which digitalization, institutional credit and stronger primary cooperatives are being promoted to accelerate inclusive rural development.
