Addressing a two-day International Summit for Packaging Industry in New Delhi recently, R S Sodhi, MD of GCMMF (Amul) said innovations are crucial to the success of the packaging industry. He acknowledged the importance of packaging in the growth of the dairy industry.
Sodhi said such packs need to be designed as can boost consumption among the common people.
The GCMMF MD called for development of affordable packaging, packaging for ethnic food and beverages and high efficiency packaging.
Sodhi also highlighted the need to form a body that works with all stakeholders to promote the use of recyclable packaging materials and also develop an infrastructure to recycle the post-consumer packaging waste.
