A former secretary of PACS in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha in cahoots with a former cooperative functionary allegedly swindled Rs 2 crore allocated for crop loans. Those who had never availed any loans found their names in the list of beneficiaries, reports New Indian Express.
The accused had stolen the amount without any record.
A source says the PACS has 116 joint liability groups of women.
The district administration has sought the intervention of higher authorities of coop dept to hold a vigilance inquiry to reveal the fraud.
