G. Suresh, Director, and I. Venkatesh, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Cooperative Management (NICM), Chennai, paid a courtesy visit to Shri Satyabrata Sahoo, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, at the Secretariat last week.
During the meeting, the NICM officials briefed the Principal Secretary on the various activities and programmes being undertaken by the Institute. These included the conduct of long-term and short-term training programmes, both on-campus and off-campus, for officials of cooperative institutions and the cooperative department.
The discussions also covered initiatives related to the dissemination of new programmes and policies of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, aimed at strengthening and developing the cooperative sector.
In addition, youth awareness programmes on cooperatives for college students were highlighted as part of NICM’s outreach and capacity-building efforts.
