The team of the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Ltd. (NFCSF) commenced work at Raiyam in Darbhanga on Tuesday, marking a significant step toward the establishment of a new cooperative sugar mill in the region.
The initiative involves preparation of the Viability Report and the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which will assess the technical, financial, and operational feasibility of setting up the proposed mill. The move is expected to strengthen the cooperative sugar sector while creating new opportunities for sugarcane farmers in and around Darbhanga.
Officials stated that the project aims to promote farmer participation under the cooperative model, ensure better price realization for produce, and generate local employment.
Once completed, the reports will lay the groundwork for further approvals and implementation, paving the way for revitalizing the sugar industry in the region through a sustainable cooperative framework.
