With the election to the Governing Council of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) scheduled for July 18, the Office of the Returning Officer has issued an advisory to all eligible voters, urging them to carry valid identity documents and report to the polling station well before the scheduled polling hours.
According to the advisory issued on Wednesday, polling will be held from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the NCUI headquarters, 3, Siri Institutional Area, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi.
The advisory reminds voters that, under Rule 19M(7) of the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Rules, 2002, every member entering the polling station should carry the identity card issued by his or her society. If the society-issued ID card is unavailable, voters may produce a government-issued identity proof, such as an Aadhaar Card or Voter ID Card, for identification.
The Returning Officer has also advised delegates to arrive at the polling venue on time to avoid inconvenience and ensure the election is conducted in a smooth, free and fair manner.
The advisory refers to the election notification issued on May 13, the revised election program issued on June 12 and June 27, and the final list of contesting candidates published on July 8.
