The National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), the training wing of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), has successfully concluded a two-day online Leadership Development Programme for chairpersons, directors and members of multi-state cooperatives.
Held on August 12–13, 2026, the programme brought together more than 50 cooperative leaders from different parts of India. The virtual programme provided a platform for learning, interaction and exchange of experiences, with emphasis on building stronger, professionally managed and technology-enabled cooperatives.
The programme covered key areas including cooperative governance, financial management, accounting and taxation, digitalisation and information technology, the National Cooperative Policy, 2025, and the roles and responsibilities of cooperative leadership.
Participants benefited from sessions conducted by NCUI experts, including Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director and Division Head, NCCE, NCUI; Anant Dubey, Deputy Director; Anurag, Deputy Director; and S. Raghuvanshi, Assistant Director.
The sessions focused on equipping cooperative leaders with practical knowledge and managerial perspectives needed to improve institutional governance, financial discipline and operational efficiency. The emphasis on digitalisation and technology also highlighted the growing need for cooperatives to adapt to changing business and service-delivery requirements.
Deepti Yadav, Deputy Director and Course Coordinator, facilitated the programme and actively engaged with participants throughout the two-day session, ensuring smooth conduct and interaction.
The programme underlined NCUI’s continuing focus on capacity building and leadership development as key drivers for strengthening India’s cooperative sector. By enhancing the knowledge and managerial capabilities of leaders of multi-state cooperatives, such initiatives seek to promote more professional, accountable and technology-oriented cooperative institutions.
