NCUI joins hands to train CEOs in Co-op Governance

NCUI, CICTAB and West Bengal State Cooperative Union jointly organized an International program on cooperative governance for CEOs and Senior Executives of cooperatives and Rural Financing institutions.

The four-day program kicked off on 21st November 2023 in the presence of Swarna Kamal Saha, MLA, NCUI Deputy CE Savitri Singh and others. It will conclude on 24th November 2023.

The training is being attended by 31 participants, out of which 16 participants are from Nepal and the remaining from Karnataka, Puducherry, Assam, Sikkim and West Bengal.

The session began with the opening remarks from Smt Sangita Sadhu, DRCS & CEO, West Bengal state cooperative union. The welcome speech was delivered by Swarna Kamal Saha, MLA, Chairman, WBSCU & Governing Council Member of NCUI.

NCUI Deputy CE Singh welcomed all participants and briefed about this program. She also thanked the Chairman, WBSCU for his efforts and cooperation for making this program happen in Kolkata.

This training program brings together CEOs and Senior Executives from cooperatives and rural financing institutions from SAARC countries uniting us in a shared commitment to advancing cooperative governance for sustainable development.

Over the next four days, this program will serve as a platform for intensive discussions, idea-sharing, and learning from the collective experiences of experts in the field.

The first session will be taken by Bidyut Kumar Basu, ex-faculty, BIRD, Lucknow on “Cooperative Governance- An Overview”.
