Ending days of speculation, former Union Minister of State for Agriculture Mohanbhai Kundariya has been nominated by NAFED as its delegate for the forthcoming NCUI elections scheduled for July 15.
Confirming the development, Kundariya told this correspondent on the phone that NAFED forwarded his name as its delegate for the NCUI electoral process.
The decision ends intense speculation over NAFED’s representative in the crucial NCUI elections.
Earlier, cooperative circles were abuzz with reports that former NAFED Chairman Bijender Singh was likely to be nominated as the federation’s delegate. However, in a last-minute change, NAFED reportedly opted for Kundariya.
The NCUI elections, slated for July 15, are being closely watched by the cooperative sector as they will shape the leadership of the apex organization representing India’s cooperative movement. NAFED, being one of the country’s largest cooperative institutions, is expected to play a significant role in the electoral process.
