NCUI CE Mahajan superannuates after 5-Year Tenure

National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) Chief Executive Sudhir Mahajan superannuated from service on February 28, 2025, after completing five years at the helm of the apex body of India’s cooperative movement.

Mahajan played a key role in strengthening NCUI’s activities during his tenure. The organisation continued to focus on cooperative education, training, and capacity-building programmes for cooperative institutions across the country. Efforts were also made to enhance coordination among various cooperative federations and organisations to promote the cooperative movement.

His tenure coincided with a period of renewed policy emphasis on cooperatives at the national level, during which NCUI actively supported initiatives aimed at expanding the sector’s reach and institutional development.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the recently appointed Administrator at NCUI has written to the Ministry of Cooperation seeking nomination of an official to take charge as Chief Executive until a regular appointment is made.
