NCHF: Bijay reelected Chairman; Mudit Vice Chairman

In a key development in the cooperative housing sector, the National Cooperative Housing Federation of India Limited (NCHF) has re-elected Bijay Kumar Singh as its Chairman, reaffirming confidence in his leadership. Mudit Verma, a cooperator from Uttar Pradesh, has been also re-elected as the Vice Chairman of the federation.

The elections for the Board of Directors were recently held, where all 17 members were elected unopposed, reflecting consensus within the federation. The board comprises 14 directors from the general category, two women directors, and one representative from the SC/ST category.

The directors elected from the general category include Asis Chakraborty, Bijay Kumar Singh, Devrajbhai Chikhalia, Ira Upreti, K C Abu, K Navaneetha Rao, Mudit Verma, Prabodh P Patyaker, Prashant Kumar, Satyanarayan Sharma, S T Somashekar, Vasant Ghuikhedkar, Vikas Jeph, and Yogesh Kumar.

From the women’s category, Mamata Singh and Rakhee Kumari were elected, while Mahendra Turi was elected from the SC/ST category.

The National Cooperative Housing Federation of India Limited is the apex body of cooperative housing institutions in the country, working to promote affordable housing through the cooperative model.

It supports state-level housing federations and primary housing cooperatives by facilitating access to finance, policy advocacy, technical guidance, and capacity building.

The federation plays a key role in mobilising resources for housing projects, coordinating with government agencies and financial institutions, and implementing housing schemes for economically weaker sections and middle-income groups.
