Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has recorded a fourfold increase in annual loan disbursements under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of the Ministry of Cooperation.
Highlighting the sector’s rapid growth, Shah said NCDC’s annual loan disbursements have surged from Rs 24,700 crore in FY 2020-21 to an unprecedented Rs 1,27,600 crore in FY 2025-26.
He said the remarkable rise reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement by ensuring greater financial support for cooperative institutions across the country.
According to Shah, enhanced credit flow has empowered grassroots cooperatives, expanded their development activities and reinforced their role in promoting inclusive growth and the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”
