NCDC showcases Co-op Stuffs at AquaEx Northeast

The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) participated in AquaEx Northeast 2026, a major fisheries and aquaculture expo and seminar held in Guwahati, Assam, on June 12–13, highlighting the role of cooperatives in advancing the fisheries sector across the Northeast.

The event, organized by AquaEx Northeast in partnership with the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), was attended by Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Assam Fisheries Minister Nandita Gorlosa, Arunachal Pradesh Fisheries Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu, and other dignitaries.

Representing NCDC, Regional Director Robert H. Touthang and Deputy Director Randhir Kumar Singh participated in the programme. The NCDC Regional Office in Guwahati showcased the corporation’s schemes, programmes and initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperative development.

During a technical session, Singh delivered a presentation on NCDC’s financial assistance and development programmes, with special emphasis on opportunities available for fisheries cooperatives and allied sectors in the Northeast. The expo highlighted the region’s vast fisheries potential and stressed the need for sustainable and inclusive growth through cooperative-led development.
