The Northern Regional Review Meeting of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) was held in Chandigarh, bringing together officials from its regional directorates in Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Shimla and Dehradun.

Chaired by Pankaj Kumar Bansal, IAS, Managing Director, NCDC, the meeting focused on strengthening the cooperative ecosystem through continuous policy review, effective implementation and sustained institutional collaboration.

Bansal emphasised the need to translate policies and programmes into meaningful outcomes at the grassroots level, underlining the importance of stronger coordination between NCDC’s regional offices and cooperative institutions.

As part of the programme, the delegation visited the Verka Milk Plant in Mohali, gaining insights into the functioning of cooperative institutions on the ground. The visit highlighted Verka’s operational processes, quality standards and efforts to strengthen Punjab’s dairy cooperative ecosystem.

The meeting reaffirmed NCDC’s commitment to effective scheme implementation, institutional capacity building and the sustained development of India’s cooperative movement.
