Newly appointed programme officers of the National Cooperative Development Corporation began their Rajasthan Study and Tour Programme with visits to the NCDC Regional Office in Jaipur and the Calico Cooperative Printers Cooperative Society.
The visit provided participants with first-hand exposure to the role of cooperatives in management, artisan empowerment, skill development and the preservation of traditional handicrafts. The programme has been designed to familiarise officers with the functioning, governance and operations of successful cooperative institutions across different sectors.
According to NCDC, the tour offered valuable insights into how cooperatives contribute to employment generation, livelihood creation and the promotion of traditional arts. Participants also gained practical knowledge of cooperative management and grassroots development initiatives.
The study programme will continue with visits to several other successful cooperative institutions and organisations, enabling officers to better understand best practices and the cooperative model’s contribution to inclusive economic development.
