NCCF ensures smooth Chana Procurement in Dhamtari
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Chickpea procurement operations under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) are being carried out smoothly in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh, providing relief and assurance to local farmers during the ongoing procurement season.

The initiative is being implemented with the active involvement of the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd., which continues to work towards ensuring that farmers receive fair and remunerative prices for their produce under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) mechanism.

Officials associated with the procurement process said that arrangements at procurement centres have been streamlined to facilitate hassle-free purchase of chana from farmers. The smooth functioning of operations is expected to strengthen farmers’ confidence in government-backed procurement systems and protect them from distress sales in the open market.

The PSS scheme plays a crucial role in stabilising market prices and safeguarding farmers’ interests by enabling procurement of pulses and other notified crops at MSP whenever market prices fall below the support level. NCCF has been actively supporting the implementation of the scheme across various states.
