Rajasthan Cooperation Minister Gautam Kumar Dak inaugurated the newly launched ‘Janah–Upahar Super Market’ at Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur, on Friday. The store has been established as a joint venture between the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) and the Rajasthan State Cooperative Consumer Federation (CONFED).
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government is taking significant steps to enable cooperative societies to expand commercial activities based on market demand, helping them become economically stronger and more competitive.
As part of the International Year of Cooperatives–2025, several innovative initiatives are being implemented to strengthen cooperatives at all levels.
The ‘Janah–Upahar Super Market’ is a key initiative under this programme. The Minister reviewed the store and appreciated the availability of NCCF’s ‘Janah’ brand organic products and CONFED’s ‘Upahar’ brand spices and millet-based items. He said these quality products will now be available to consumers at fair prices under one roof.
Highlighting NCCF’s contribution, Dak noted that being a national-level cooperative institution, it helps farmers secure better prices for their produce while providing a stronger market platform.
He added that more cooperative-led outlets-particularly millet stores-are being opened across Rajasthan, with 201 outlets already functional, nearly six times the original target.
Senior officials, including Shilpi Pandey, Managing Director of CONFED, and Madhu Sharma, State Head of NCCF, were present along with officers from the Cooperation Department and various cooperative institutions.
