The National Cooperative Spice Fair was inaugurated on Friday at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cooperation, Gautam Kumar Dak, in the presence of Registrar of Cooperative Societies Dr. Samit Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Dak said the annual fair, organized by the Cooperation Department and Rajasthan State Cooperative Consumer Federation, has established a distinct identity over the years. He emphasized that such platforms enable cooperative institutions to market their products effectively while ensuring farmers receive fair prices.
Highlighting the role of cooperatives in achieving Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat,” Dak said the success of the national fair has inspired similar events at divisional levels, with plans to expand to district-level fairs.
The fair, being held from April 17 to 26, features around 150 stalls showcasing products from multiple states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh. Visitors can purchase a wide range of spices and regional specialties at reasonable prices.
Popular attractions include premium spices like Kerala’s pepper, Kashmir’s saffron, and Rajasthan’s Mathania chillies. Cultural programs, daily lucky draws, and a mega bumper draw are also part of the event.
