The Ministry of Cooperation has developed a comprehensive National Cooperative Database (NCD), offering single-point access to information on more than 8.4 lakh cooperative societies with nearly 32 crore members across 30 sectors.
Launched in March 2024, the database is updated regularly by State and UT nodal officers and captures essential details such as location, membership, activities, infrastructure, financial performance, and audit status. Built in three phases, the NCD continues to evolve with additional datasets and functionalities.
To strengthen digital integration, the Ministry issued a standard API framework in May 2025, enabling States to fetch and synchronize cooperative data with the portal. Push APIs for real-time data flow were launched in September 2025, followed by detailed advisories on computerization and API integration in November.
Rajasthan has already completed full integration, while other States and UTs have been asked to develop pull APIs and finish digitization of Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) systems for seamless two-way data exchange.
The Ministry is also holding monthly review meetings with State Registrars to address gaps, especially concerning unregistered societies. Regular training, user manuals, and digital literacy support are being provided to State and district nodal officers to ensure accurate data entry and effective use of the NCD for governance and decision-making.
