Indian government will buy 50 percent more onions from farmers in the 2021-22 financial year, reports Money control. The move is intended to check the increase in prices of onions.
The government will check the prices by having a buffer stock of 150,000 tonnes of onions.
Sources say India govt will soon begin procuring onions with the help of Nafed.
