Nafed gives cash prize and citation to performers

Nafed which created history of sorts by achieving an unprecedented growth despite Covid conditions, honoured its performers for their exemplary work during the 63rd AGM held Wednesday in Delhi.

Several of Nafed staff members including their MD Sanjeev Kumar Chadha were given cash awards along with citations. The Nafed Board which sat just before the AGM recommended a cash award of Rs 51 lacs to MD Chadha.

Recounting the MD’s contribution in resurrecting Nafed from deathbed, its Chairman Bijender Singh lauded his role.

Raghuvansi, one of the former Nafed Directors from Madhya Pradesh was also felicitated for retrieving nine acres of Nafed land from encroachers. He also received a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.

More than two dozen staff members of Nafed were given cash prizes ranging from Rs 50k to Rs 1 lakh for their performance. While Veena Kumar and M Voraswami, the two GMs were given Rs 1 lac prize, branch managers of several state units received cash prizes ranging from Rs 50k to Rs 1 lac.

Calling it a welcome move, several co-operators felt that giving prizes is a good way of encouraging staff members to do better.
