National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement, Processing and Retailing Cooperatives of India Ltd. (NACOF) has issued a legal notice to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) general secretary and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar over his allegations concerning a food supply contract for Telangana’s residential welfare institutions, according to media reports.
NACOF has given Praveen Kumar seven days to withdraw his statements, remove related social media posts and videos, and issue a public apology. The federation has warned of civil and criminal proceedings if he fails to comply.
Praveen Kumar had alleged a Rs 900-crore scam in the centralised procurement of food supplies for residential schools and hostels and demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe.
Rejecting the allegations, NACOF maintained that it secured the contract through an open and competitive e-procurement process.
The federation said it emerged as the lowest bidder (L1), received the Letter of Award on August 19, 2026, and is supplying provisions and cleaning materials across all 33 districts of Telangana.
